A Day of Rest.
I feel like today was the first day I had to REST!
I am enjoying it thoroughly! I must back up to yesterday.
I got up and immediately had to get ready to head home so I had my other Chobani.

Blueberry. Yum!
Once I got through security I ordered a grande non-fat awake tea latte. Everytime I asked for non-fat(a couple times) the lady didn’t acknowledge it all, she was talking to someone else and then someone else made my drink so I am guessing it was not non-fat, because there was nothing written on my cup! :-\ Oh well, she also put vanilla in it. Is that normal? It tasted good and woke me up a little bit so I guess mission accomplished.

I had to resort to what was closest and easiest to eat, I noticed a Dunkin Donuts cart right by my gate so I got a whole wheat bagel and banana. But..they were out of cream cheese!! Sad right? I never eat bagels(although I LOVE them) and they were out of CC. Oh well, I used these two little containers of butter. Butter is a good alternative.

I wasn’t going to eat, but I realized that our flight was a bit delayed and I wouldn’t be eating for 4 1/2 hours. I knew eating something was better then nothing. This was super satisfying and held me over until dinner!

We went right to Adam’s parent’s house where I was welcomed with a home cooked meal! Yum. Sorry for the dark picture, my camera was packed and I didn’t feel like trekking out in the rain to get it.
We ate a mini stir-fry veggie mix, corn bread, a roasted chicken, and a glass of white wine that was yummy!
Oh and maybe add two more pieces of cornbread. What?? I just LOVE LOVE LOVE cornbread!!! I can’t eat just one piece.

My mother-in-law also made funfetti cake! How…fun!
I ate this slice. Yumm! There’s something about funfetti cake you just can’t beat.
A few hours later, I had this nighttime snack.

I didn’t post last night because I hadn’t seen Adam in a few days, and was the longest time we had apart! Thinking of jumping on my computer to post instead of spending time with him just didn’t feel right. I know posting has been sporadic but I am back friends.
Breakfast was two pieces of toast with pumpkin butter and a clementine. Yum! Also a cup of coffee with some coconut creamer.

I met up with my former roommate and great friend, Mandy for lunch. We had been meaning to get lunch for a while now and she wanted to try a small Mexican restaurant nearby that always seems packed. I know, Mexican for the second time this week. But I said yes, I love discovering new places!

We first snacked on their yummy chips and some salsa. I ordered enchiladas again. These were drenched with cheese! A little too much for me, but I ate one and some rice and the beans.
I brought the extras home for Adam.
Tonight I am cooking for Adam, and I can’t wait!
See you all later!

Pumpkin three-ways.
Good Tuesday everybody, I hope yours is going grand. Mine was another long day, but I sort of get a break tomorrow?
Before I jump to tomorrow, we’ll start with today.
Breakfast-

Sorry for the dark picture, I notice now I don’t care too much about lighting in the morning because I am soooo tired and don’t really notice until I am writing..like now!
I ended up toasted an Arnold’s sandwich thin sandwich with pumpkin butter. Yumm! I ate this around 8 when I got to school.

Yeah, I need to eat more(wish it were easier) because I was hungry by 10 again! It seems no matter what I eat, and no matter what time my stomach is always feeling hollow by 10. Frustrating! Especially since I can’t really leave twenty kids to go scarf a snackie. I taught today for the last time(we had a sub half the day) so hopefully these last few days I won’t be starving by lunch!
Lunch was unpictured. I just had three small slices of leftover pineapple pizza(not as pretty as the freshly cooked version) from last night. I also had some more cranberry apple sauce, and a pumpkin pie bar from Kashi. Carb overload!

When I got home I dug into one of these! YAY! I have seen some bloggies snack on this flavor and HAD to try it. I love pumpkin can’t you tell??

With a little H2H makes Katy a happy girl.

I liked it! It wasn’t like pumpkin pie to me, more cinnamon then pumpkin flavor I thought, but I still liked it. I love the texture of Stonyfield’s yogurt. So smooth and creamy. Good thing I bought two more of these!
I just realized I had pumpkin three-ways today! Crazy..I just love pumpkin.
I feel like I can rest a little, and maybe even sleep in a little tomorrow!! I am off to a “Now That You’re Graduating” seminar in the morning until noon and then I am free as a bird!! Maybe I can get Adam to take me to lunch after! He works right by my campus so he’ll be dropping me off and picking me up since I don’t have a parking permit this semester.
I’m off to decide if I am going to work-out and then I think we are going out for some wine and tapas! Yay!!

Après Thanksgiving.
Days after holidays are hard when you have to say goodbye to family and head home. There’s just that little feeling of something missing..
I am cheering up by relaxing with my boys and catching up on blogs and Biggest Loser.

My morning started with some plain yogurt, granola, raisins and slivered almonds. After the picture was taken I drizzled a little honey on top.

Along with a cup of OJ(please excuse the messy table).
We packed up and headed out by noon, around 1:15 we pulled over to eat our lunches. Mom packed “gobblers”..

The story of the gobbler begins about eight years ago at this point we had already spent a couple summer’s on Martha’s Vineyard, a small island off the coast of Cape Cod, Mass.
We actually lived there for a few months, at the beginning of my freshman year of high school. We heard of “Humphrey’s Bakery” and it’s awesome sandwiches. One day, we pulled over into the little shop that’s pictured on the website and I saw the “Turkey Gobbler” sandwich which had turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce on fresh bread. I thought it sounded good so we ordered it. Well it was a HUGE sandwich on crusty, fresh french bread. The turkey was real turkey and was every time we went. They actually cooked a turkey everyday to make your sandwich amazing and at the time it was 5 bucks. The best deal on the island. It’s now 6.50 but trust me, they could charge 10 for this sammie. Now every day after Thanksgiving, my mom always makes us gobblers. We weren’t together last year, so I happily ate!
She made it on some Publix white mountain bread my sister had bought(her favorite). It was awesome!

We also picked up some fuel. With DD iced coffee it can be really good or really bad. Sadly, this was one of those bad DD times. They didn’t add any sugar or sweetener at all. I need a little something here! Luckily I had some sugar packets in my car from past DD trips, I used a few but they don’t really dissolve easily in cold liquid. I drank about half.
Now we are home. Leo is sleeping..

..he’ll be a little sad for the next few days but I think he’ll cheer up. My sister brought him here so that we could be his “foster parents” for anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. She lives in NYC and manages a popular BBQ restaurant there. She works long hours and so Leo is usually home by himself a lot. Also, it’s hard for her when she wants to go out with friends after a long day, or one of her few days off and has to choose between leaving him alone longer or going out. This is a trial run, and we’re happy to help her out.
I miss my sister already, this was the best visit we’ve had with each other in a while. Sometimes we get tense with each other but this time there was none of that. We are 5 1/2 years apart in age(I’m younger) and as I get older I feel like we can relate a lot more and just really be there for each other. She is an amazing sister and I am really blessed.
Here we are at my wedding where she was my maid of honor..

Love you and miss you already Jen!
Right now we are making dinner out of things we have. It’s smelling yumm..
Apple pie recipe to come tonight.
