To the doggie park.
I had a fun afternoon after I got home! Ashley called me and asked if Leo and I I wanted to head to the dog park with her and Dixie. I said yes!
Leo spent most of his time hiding under the bench..

He finally ventured out to watch the big dogs play.

Then quickly returned to hide.

I got home right after Adam had and we quickly decided on dinner.
Sorry for the blurred pictures, a gift we got for someone we know who may or may not read this blog was sitting right there.
I snacked on a clementine in the meantime.
I wasn’t going to take a picture of said clementine but Adam wouldn’t have any of it. So he took a picture of me eating the clementine..
That happy balloon was from my last day of internship. Notice the contrasts in emotions. Why I oughta!

I also snacked on snow peas and Sabra roasted red pepper hummus. My new favorite hummus dipper! The freshness of the peas works really well with the sweet, roasty pepper hummus.

We decided on stir-fry! An easy, healthy and filling go to recipe!
We cooked up some veggies as the rice boiled.

Adam cooked chicken, onions and baby bellas in teriyaki and soy sauces as well as some garlic powder in another pan.

Once the chicken cooks, add the brown rice and snow peas.

Scoop in a bowl, then top with veggies!

Sooo yummy, and soooo filling!
I received a text as I was eating, it was Ashley again! The three of us (Adam, Leo and I) were invited over for a game night! We played Scategories with Ashley, David and Ashley’s friend Janna. It was a lot of fun!
We headed home after playing a few rounds. It’s so great to have them living so close!
I am super tired but I had a craving for something sweet.

Enter: Edgies!
This flavor is like a cookie on top of a brownie with chocolate drizzle. The perfect dessert, small, rich and super satisfying! Adam had half of another one and wanted me to say how delicious they are as well!
I had this with a mug of hot white tea. I am going to be drinking a lot more tea then normal with the weather this cold and wonderful!
Such a fun day, Leo is going to sleep really well tonight!
I’m off to bed, I am zonked as well!

Addicted to Blogging?
I must admit it, I was so bummed last night not being able to blog. I just might be addicted to the internet and to blogging. I think that the latter is a great thing, especially since I am new and about to hit the one month mark! YAY! I love this community, I love writing and I love expressing myself through words, photographs and food. I am looking forward to continue learning more and to write better, more creative and interesting posts. I really just love the blog world! So thank you for joining me and being a part of it.
My life has already changed so much for the better since writing and I really can’t wait to see what happens next!
Onto playing catch-up..
Friday night after posting we tore into that cupcake and split half of it..
I have no restraint and found myself digging in before even taking a pic, guilty as charged. It was sooo yummy! Hoping to dig into the other half tonight!
For breakfast, Adam made me two eggs over medium with half a toasted sandwich thin. It was good, but it’s hard for both of us to eat eggs first thing in the morning. Also, I had eaten so early (around 6:30) that by 11:30 (when we eat lunch at school) I was starving! It was nice to have something substantial and warm instead of a bowl of cereal!

When I got home, I was waiting for Adam to get home so we could meet his parents for dinner before we headed to the beach. I dug into a pomegranate Chobani with some MixMy Granola! Super yumm!

I think we are ordering more of this soon and considering I am officially in love, that would make Katy a happy girl.
Pictures at dinner were super blurry and it wasn’t super exciting so I will just recap for you. I wanted something light and we had headed to an Italian restaurant and wine bar down the street. I had some grilled shrimp which was listed as an appetizer and a house salad. To drink I had a light and refreshing pinot grigio. Love it! I was starving when we got to the beach house though. On the way we stopped at Super Target to pick up some necessities that included these..

After hanging out for a bit we headed out for a walk/run. It was fun to explore the town this way, it’s a really cute little beach town! We didn’t walk onto the beach that time but we walked near it and ran around the neighborhoods around it. I just mapped our walk/run and it totaled 1.41 miles.
A little later, we started watching our second movie we rented which was UP!

Okay, I wanted to cry within ten minutes but it was still cute and heart warming!
It was almost lunch time, but we hadn’t bought anything for lunch. So we snacked on some SmartPop popcorn we picked up at Blockbuster.

After the movie we headed out to the beach to walk it and see if we wanted to lay out..it was very breezy and a little too cold to lay out so we just walked, talked and took pictures..

Just mapped our second walk and it totaled 2.11 miles! That added up to 3.52 miles today!
The sand was more flat and hard then mushy the way other beaches are my calves still started to hurt though! I really loved just being able to walk down to the beach.
On our way back, we picked up lunch at a cute local coffee shop, Flagler Avenue Coffee House. We ordered some sandwiches to-go and I took pictures as we waited.

This was on the floor right as you first walk in…(:
When we got home we dove into our lunches and they were delish! I ordered the veggie sandwich on a croissant with balsamic vinaigrette.

It also came with a side of multicolored corn chips and salsa. My sandwich had sprouts, shredded carrots, cucumbers, tomato and lettuce. YUM!! Especially on the buttery croissant which was totally worth the extra calories..I LOVE CROISSANTS!

After we ate we showered, packed up and headed home..but not before stopping at DD for a little iced pick-me-up.

Anyway, you can imagine my heartbreak to be without internet for 24 hours. It’s sad, I know..but we came home a night early so we could have a night-in at home this weekend. Where we stayed was more of a small house then a condo, which is what I assumed it would be, and I always feel a little awkward when staying in other people’s homes. I get over it after a day, but as much as I loved being by the beach, I didn’t feel as relaxed there as I had hoped. We had a wonderful 24 hours away and our continuing our staycation at home.
Also, I want to wish Ashley a very happy and healthy MARATHON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YAY! Kick butt girl, you’re going to do amazing. You inspire me to run with love always.
Love love love,
Katy H.
P.S.- Since there’s another Katy around the blog scene I am going to sign my posts Katy H. so when being referred to it doesn’t get too confusing!
