Enter: Leo.
My “foster” puppy is here. He’s my sister’s dog but she lives in NYC and works at a popular BBQ restaurant there so it’s difficult when he’s home alone for so long most days. We’re taking him for a while to make things easier on her. So yay for puppy time on the blog!
He is a shih-tzu and is 8 years old. But I will call all my dogs puppy.
Anyway..back to the rest of my day..
After my post I cleaned the apartment, then headed to the gym.
My Work-Out:
Treadmill(Warm-Up): 4.0 at %6.0 incline for 5 minutes
Elliptical: 15 Minutes at level 7 hills program(ouch)
Chest Press: (40 lbs.) 3 x 20
Lateral Pull-Down: (30 lbs.) 3 x 20
Sitting Row: (30 lbs.) 3 x 20
Chest Fly: (30 lbs.) 3 x 20
Total time: About 35 Minutes
Good work-out! Not too long, but I did what I could with the time I had.
I got off my butt and sweat a lot and that’s great.
After showering up, I made a lighter lunch. I believe this is what fellow bloggers call a Hugh Jass salad:

Mmmm, my fave. Spinach salad with brocc, baby carrots, a little gorgonzola crumbles(the last of ‘em) and some goddess dressing on top.
I had been borrowing my in-laws car for a week and a half, I actually drive my father-in-laws jeep until January when I get a new car (yay!) and they dropped my jeep back off the other day. Getting into my car I found a present: a bag of Jelly Bellys!! Ohhh man..trouble right there..
I munched..

Don’t worry this was taken at a red light.
I munched throughout the evening.
I headed out to my mother-in-laws to help grade. Once I got there I felt so drained! Well, duh I had no carbs with lunch! I now realize why I was so tired! I had toasted a slice of oatmeal bread to have along with my salad but totally forgot about it! I was in such a rush to get out the door. The salad filled me for a while though.
I graded for a bit then left to pick-up my sister at the airport. Boy did it start storming though. That lightning was insane! I got lost but finally made it. Good thing I had jelly beans..*munchmunchmunchmunch*
I picked her up and we headed back to my in-laws since they offered dinner for us and since it was dark, rainy, and eating outside(with Leo) was out of the question we agreed! Good thing too, dinner was super yummy!

Pork, fresh steamed green beans, rice, and cornbread! Oh yes, and some homemade cranberry sauce. Plus some unpictured peas. Am I weird that I love peas? I went back for two more scoops after I ate one!
I went back for seconds on…..everything.
I ended up eating two and a half slices of cornbread. I love corn anything, hence the arepa the other day. I LOVE cornbread. Oh man, and this was the good ol’ jiffy box cornbread. Yuuumm!
After dinner, I had a cup of coffee and we headed home.
Oh and my nephew…
Everybody, meet Leo. Leo, meet everybody..

He was on Benadryl and some Rescue Remedy to calm him during the flight so he’s very sleepy. He goes to a holistic vet in NYC, awesome right? I actually used rescue remedy when my anxiety was high. I love it, and need to get more. Good to know it’s okay for dogs! Ha..

It was hard to get him to look at the camera but you will see lots of pics of him! Especially since my sister is leaving him with us for a while. I want her to be able to keep up with him as well and the blog is the perfect place for that!
Tomorrow is a big day, especially since we’re headed to Jacksonville for Thanksgiving..YAY. I am off to make some tea and get some rest.
Goodnight!

Winner winner veggie-pasta dinner!
Before I announce the winner, I’m going to talk about the second half of my day. I know torture right? At least this is a blog and not “The Biggest Loser”..you can just scroll down to find out the winner
.
For my pre-cleaning fuel:

Smooothie time!
- One banana
- Flax
- Amazing Grass
- Strawberries, Mango, blue berries
- Quarter cup of Chobani 0% plain greek yogurt
- As much spinach as I could stuff into the magic bullet. It sounds like death since I have been making all those smoothies..oops!
- Some of this:
Yummm!
It was perfectly yummy and creamy. Looove me some smoothies! I also had a small bowl of booty! Pirate’s booty that is..
After my snack, we began the dreadful task of cleaning! Due to us both working forty hours a week..cleaning seems to be a minor priority. In honesty, it’s a huge priority but we often let tiredness and other duties take over and our apartment becomes a mess! It doesn’t help that we live in a one bedroom and it seems that many things just don’t have a place. Well, it’s now clean! I swear we had so many dirty clothes, I didn’t realize we had that many items of clothing between the two of us. This is the laundry that never ends..yes it goes on and on and on and on……
Well, you get the idea
When we got towards the end, Adam started dinner. I love the smell of garlic and onion cooking..mmmmmmm! He made farfalle pasta with diced tomatoes, veggies, garlic, and what was left of a small hunk of mozzy cheese.

Yuuuuhhh-hum!
It helps that I married a man whose nickname in college was “Chef Adam”. He even has a chef coat that says “Chef Adam” on it.

My body needs catching up!
After having three hours of sleep Saturday night, my body is paying for it STILL! I tried heading to the gym on the elliptical and lasted 10 minutes! Hopefully I can get a good nights sleep tonight and feel better tomorrow. I also didn’t mind leaving the gym early because I have a couple hours of cleaning on the way and that’ll be plenty exercise! Especially after being on my feet for six hours. My body is screaming at me to rest..so I am going to get right to cleaning after this post! My goal is for it to be clean enough to give you a tour!

My morning began with a lovely cup o’ Joe. With a little bit of skim milk and a packet of Sun Crystals.

A bowl of Kashi H2H and puffins.

Yes, another salad and veggies. This time my salad included:
- Gorgonzola
- Annie’s Goddess Dressing
- Spring Mix
- Spinach
- Organic baby carrots
- Broccoli
Of course accompanied by a dry, toasted, sandwich thin.
Mostly the same but I added more veggies to this mix. I have to think of something yummy for lunch tomorrow so I don’t get sick of it too fast. That dressing is incredible though!
I also packed a stonyfield yogurt for some sweetness..not that I didn’t maybe sneak some of Lindsey’s cookies in after that!
Two mini cookies..

My full lunch minus two mini-cookies!
Now I am about to fuel up for a night of cleaning before dinner! Here we go!
Katy
PS- You have another couple hours to enter the giveaway! I’ll pick the winner by 8 tonight!

Target practice..
Well, I said goodbye to my puppy(who is actually 11 years old and not exactly a puppy) tonight. Sad..he’s been with us since I was in eighth grade! Crazy..
Adam(the hubs) decided it would be fun to take pictures as I cuddled with Bo.

See the progression of deep emotions happening..
One day we will have our own puppy! Maybe in the next year..hint hint husband..
So we dropped him off and had previously planned to go the super target near the house we brought him to for grocery shopping. It really is one of the best super targets I have been to and there were lots of sales! I was feeling exhausted and a little bummed after dropping him off as expected. I definitely needed a boost..
I decided a non-fat Awake Tazo tea was highly necessary..

Thank goodness for Starbucks’ in Super Targets.
It was perfect, filled me up a little with the milk and gave me just enough energy to power through grocery shopping. I even picked a box of Awake tea up in case I am not feeling the ginger some mornings.
It was getting very late and we still hadn’t eaten dinner so we decided little to no prep would be great. We browsed the frozen pizzas and decided on a Kashi roasted vegetable thin crust. It has 14g of protein per serving and 4g of fiber per serving and only 250 calories!

I had one serving which ended up being about 2 1/2 pieces.

It was super YUM but needed more of the veggies. Next time I will beef it up with my own veggies, but cooking was not gonna happen at eight o’clock!
Adam wanted some beer but not a whole bottle, so we ended up splitting it in half. Sorry for the lack of picture..
For dessert I had an Edy’s all-natural strawberry fruit pop.
Light, refreshing, and delish!
I am already in bed and it’s awesome. About to put on some Friends, and drift off to sleep drinking some yummy nighttime tea!
Sorry for the boring post, this girl needs her rest!
Goodnight friends!

Another day..
..another dollar? Actually I pay tuition to work 40-hours a week. So another day, another dollar paid!
It stinks but it will be all worth it when I have my degree in December! I cannot wait to be done with my internship! I can’t really talk to much about it just because it is a school and I really have to be careful!
Anyways, my day started out a little more awake then yesterday. Still on not enough sleep, I wasn’t feeling great. I opted for tea since I didn’t feel like I needed the extra caffeine boost and I rather not rely on coffee every morning.

I brewed up some Tazo ginger green tea. It is yummy and that little bit of ginger helped settle my stomach this morning. Sometimes my stomach feels queasy really early in the morning so this is a great option for that since ginger is a natural way to ease nausea!
For breakfast I had a smoothie since it’s all I really felt like having! I blended organic skim milk, a cup of spinach, amazing grass, strawberries, mango, banana, and flax! It’s a very easy, portable way to have breakfast.I drank the extra before leaving for work.

I love that portable cup! It came with a portable cooler we bought from Target a couple weeks ago before we left for a weekend long trip. It’s a great size, plus you can freeze it so it’s great for smoothies! Another plus, it’s easy to clean. A lot of times the flax can dry on the cup you use, so this is perfect and easy to clean!
For luuuunch I packed this array:
Pomegranate apple sauce, another mini pack of Tribe hummus(this time with carrots AND pita), and 365 organic chocolate bears.
The pita was better then just carrots and definitely filled me up, I had about 3/4 of one pita and most of the hummus. The mini Tribe hummus is from Costco! I was by the cold room and it was sitting there. My mom grabbed it and was pretty excited about it. So am I!
I packed up my lunch in my lunchbox:

And poured my 32 oz.:

I try and drink one of these during school and then another one from the time I get home until I get to sleep! I found drinking 64 oz. helps me to get fuller faster, so I am not overeating at night which is great! I also just feel better, I know I don’t drink enough water daily. I haven’t been as good drinking two of these so I need to keep working on it, but having this helps a lot!
Then it was off to school!
When I got home I walked Bo, then snacked on a bowl of puffins and flax with skim milk:

A few pumpkin seeds from our glorious pumpkins:

And some Pirate’s Bootay..

I am SO TIRED! We have to drive about 15 minutes and drop my dog off at my mom’s friend’s house tonight since she has a golden retriever and is home most of the day. I want to keep him here but we’re gone so much this week it’s not fair to him. I’m going to be pretty bummed when I have to leave him, not gonna lie. But to make up for it we are making a trip to super target to get groceries! Yay?
I just love Target..
Later gators..
