Infusion Tea-licious

Sunday started out as most Sundays do in the Hill household..church! I really love our church, it’s smaller and more intimate. They are very focused on community building and are very good at that as well. We went to a different church back home for Christmas Eve service and it made me realize how much I really love ours here.

Breakfast was my boring bowl of Kashi H2H and GoLean crunch. Yum. I apologize for the dullness, but I really love cereal. It was quick, easy and filling. :)

DSC_0001.JPG

On my way to church I saw a very exciting message from Anne P., she was coming into town for a bit! I ended up being able to meet her and Megan for a later lunch at Infusion Tea.

DSC_0029.JPG

This was my second time there, but I really need to eat here more often. I am never disappointed.

Look at all that tea!

DSC_0007.JPG

They also have a cute store. :)

DSC_0010.JPG

It was so fun to finally meet Anne and to hang out with Megan for the second time.

DSC_0012.JPG DSC_0015.JPG

Wonderful Chai tea latte.

DSC_0019.JPG

Then our food came!

I got a combo with 1/2 a serving of their yummy chili and half a “Concorde” sandwich.

DSC_0024.JPG

My sandwich had hummus, tabouleh, organic field greens, sunflower seeds and a balsamic glaze.

DSC_0026.JPG

Absolutely awesome sandwich. The chili was also super delicious! Perfect for the cold weather here in Orlando.

We talked and ate for a couple of hours and then headed to get some fro-yo at CeFiore, per Megan’s recommendation.

I had samples of the acai berry yogurt, and the original flavor.

DSC_0032.JPGDSC_0042.JPG

I settled on the acai flavor, so delicious. Now which toppings to choose?

DSC_0034.JPGDSC_0044.JPG

Our creations. Mine is the one with the pink yogurt in the middle! I had mangoes, kiwi and pom arils topping mine. SO yummy!!

DSC_0046.JPG

Then we headed to the outlets, which took FOREVER!! I think the entire city of Orlando is shopping right now. I drove separately and I was only there for about twenty minutes to visit LuLuLemon, and then head home. It took 30 minutes alone to get out of the garage! It was mad chaos. I was driving for so long.

I was SO happy to get home where Adam had started dinner. He had sweet potatoes in the oven and I cooked myself up a large handful of spinach (which turned into this measly pile), as well as a spicy black bean burger I put on top of a piece of whole wheat bread with some organic ketchup. Yum!

DSC_0055.JPG

Dessert was a small piece of cake and a few pieces of Christmas candy. Chocolaty heaven!

DSC_0062.JPG

I used my small plates for dinner and dessert and really does help me to eat less. I feel like I am eating so much more when on a huge plate it would look measly!

I am now off to relax and head to bed to read some more Twilight, I am way behind on this trend. I tried to hold back but couldn’t any longer. I have SO many good books to read so I want to make it through this one. :)

Sunday Date Night

Adam and I had a fun little spontaneous date night tonight. We both needed it for sure!

Before I get to that, let’s back up to lunch.

I had some leftover salad tossed with some Annie’s Goddess dressing. I also had one mini-whole wheat pita with some roasted red pepper hummus. I love Sabra’s roasted red pepper hummus!

DSC_0028.JPG

I also had a couple cookies that I brought home from the cookie extravaganza yesterday.

DSC_0030.JPG

I ate a lemon & ricotta cookie and a coconut macaroon. Yumm!

We hung out at home and then headed out for our date night!

First stop: The Wine Room at Park Avenue.

photo.jpg

photo.jpg

First you buy a card, and then add money to it as you want. They have over 150 wines to taste and you can choose the size of your tasting as you go. It’s self-serve and it’s really fun to just go around and try what you want! We already had a card so we added some money and went for some tastings. Then we headed to Urban Flats.

DSC_0031.JPG

We split a salad of caramelized onions, walnuts, blue cheese and a balsamic vinaigrette(on the side). Yum! At first they forgot the pears but they made the salad for me, glad I asked for some. :)

We ordered three flat breads to share. Well, I shared two he was on his own with the steak & portobello.

DSC_0032.JPG
To the right is the roasted vegetable flat bread.
This is the FIG and prosciutto flat bread with blue cheese and mozzarella. SO amazingly good! Sweet, savory. Delicious!!

DSC_0033.JPG

This is Adam’s steak and portobello pizza!

DSC_0034.JPG

I ate this plate..

DSC_0035.JPG

..plus another slice of roasted veggie and the fig and prosciutto.

When we got home, I ate some cookies. Excuse the paper towel, I just wanted my sweets fast! ;)

I only ate one of the lemon ricotta cookies and the coconut-meringue-macaroon cookie. Yummy!

DSC_0037.JPG

I had a great night with Adam, and I am SO ready for bed now!!

:) Goodnight!

Look out New York ’cause here I come!

Sorry for the lack of post, I am a busy busy bee trying to get ready to head to to NYC tomorrow! AH! Impromptu traveling is exactly as stressful as it sounds! :) Trust me..

Anyways, onto my day..

55BB9ED2-D2E1-4D40-87EF-762B07DBB391.jpeg

Adam made me a yummy mix of:

-1 egg

-1 egg white

-Some Jimmy Dean sausage breakfast skillets(potatoes, peppers, onions, sausage) that Adam was already preparing, not the healthiest but yummy and it’s Sunday! :)

I also had a clementine on the side!

We headed to church where we heard the most amazing story by a man from Ethiopia, his name is Bekele Shanko. If you want to hear an absolutely incredible story, e-mail me! I would love to tell you all about it!

After church we ran around for about four hours, well I pretty much dragged Adam around, trying to find warmer clothes I could take to NYC. I was getting stressed because I wanted to find cute, flat boots but it was hard to find my size, and they make those boots so darn narrow! My poor wide feet would not survive New york in those. Alas, I am new boot-less, but I got a few pieces that will help me stay warm, you will see them this week!

For lunch, we stopped at “The Burger Bar” in the Seminole Town Center in nearby Sanford. I don’t eat red meat much, but these burgers were super fresh and made on the spot. They were also ginormous, I didn’t need a side this was the whole meal!

I ordered the “Dirty Martini” which was a blackened burger with sliced black olives, red onion, lettuce, and crumbled blue cheese. Yummm.

(Taken with my iPhone)

1582422E-9AD4-4173-95B0-65D5C5F2760F.jpeg

I dove right into dessert..yes, more edgies. Get used to it. I have lots of these! :)

I ate the left one and Adam and I shared the one on the right. Need I say it? Amazing. Still. :)

DSC_0030.JPG

I love milk with chocolate desserts! I had a glass of skim on the side.

DSC_0029.JPG

A few hours later, I had some of my probiotic yogurt by Stonyfield! Love this. :)

DSC_0033.JPG

I am also nursing this cup of bedtime tea and a little agave. :)

DSC_0038.JPG

I also know a couple hershey kisses made their way without a picture being taken. I have been craving sweets more lately. Not a good thing. ;)

Tomorrow is going to be crazyyyyyy! I am praying that the planes I fly on happen to be a couple of the 100+ planes that are now equipped with wi-fi so I can get some work done on the plane! Other wise I have a stash of chick flicks for both flights. :) I am flying into Atlanta for about 30 minutes, and then I am heading to New York! It’s going to be a long day, but I will be ready.

I am going to do my best to do a morning and night post while in New York, but I may be limited to one post depending on what we do! Either way I can’t wait to take lots of pictures for you and to report on my trip! I am hoping we can squeeze into Serendipity since I have never been, and hopefully head to the Food Network building in Chelsea.

My mom and sister lived in New York in 2007, my sister ended moving back after they moved home so I won’t be doing most of the touristy things since I have done them many times before. I am hoping to explore more and find other fun things to check out!

I was hoping to start training Tuesday for the half-marathon, but I am so not used to running in 30-degree weather, so we’ll see. I may just do some inside exercises and start training when I get home. We’ll see. I don’t have warm running clothes, but I am packing what I do have and hopefully I can make it work!

Any tips on carrying a DSLR around a large city? I have a cute bag but it’s a little bulky. I may just use my bag as my purse and carry everything in there. Thoughts?

See you all tomorrow as I get crazed trying to do laundry/pack and organize! AHHH!

EDIT: I almost forgot to mention a very very very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to RYAN!! YAY! I hope it was wonderful! :)

Off to the market..

After church we headed to a farmer’s market we hadn’t been to yet! This one is in Maitland at Lake Lily. I love that it’s lined up along the lake so you don’t feel overwhelmed by huge groups of people.

IMG_1257.JPG

It was past lunch time and we spotted a booth cooking up some yummy fare. I had an arepa(which I shared with Adam)..

IMG_1258.JPG

I also had a bite of Adam’s steak empanada. SO DELICIOUS!! I will be getting one of those next time.

IMG_1260.JPG

Adam took this of me walking and while I wasn’t going to put in he said, and I quote “Don’t you delete that, you put that in your blog!” here it is Adam. Happy?

We picked this up while we were there..

IMG_1278.JPG

I have been seeing pumpkin butter all over the blog world and I have needed some..luckily we found a woman who cooks up jams, butters, and spreads. I wanted to buy at least five other jars but we restrained ourselves to this.

IMG_1262.JPG

When we got home we split up a large apple and I dipped mine into some of that yummlicious pumpkin butter. SO GOOD! Like dessert..

We then hit up Super Target for groceries and came home to make dinner.

We started with an appetizer (which was supposed to be a side but once we had a taste, we couldn’t stop eating them!) Kale Chips! Thanks to Kath. :) This was our second batch it did not take long to devour. I ate mine with some organic ketchup and hot sauce!

IMG_1266.JPG

I got hungry waiting for our dinner to finish so I had a cheese stick..

IMG_1267.JPG

IMG_1273.JPG

I waved Sunday goodbye with a beer..then dinner was served! I was so hungry I didn’t realize that I hadn’t taken a picture until I got to to this point..

IMG_1275.JPG

Adam and I shared the celery sticks. We made baked chicken tenders with panko breadcrumbs that we added paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, and S&P to. The chicken soaked in an egg mixture with hot sauce. Baked at 375 for 15-20 minutes until cooked.

IMG_1276.JPG

We made them healthier chicken wings with home made buffalo sauce(not as much butter as they normally make the sauce) with some vinegar and hot sauce. We shared a small side of blue cheese and celery. My favorite bite is one with a little blue cheese & a little sauce. I always get my wing sauce on the side for the perfect mix. These were much healthier then normal chicken wings and were mighty tasty! It’s all in the spices baby..

We used “steam and mash” ore ida potatoes. Once they steamed in the micro, they were mixed with plain yogurt, milk, a little smart balance and some salt.

IMG_1277.JPG

This was a perfect “southern comfort” meal for a Sunday with the fried part!

I apologize for the picture of my dinner! My pictures have been sad. Hopefully they will look much better soon. :)

For dessert, of course, some more wedding cake! We each had a slice about the size as the one of the two I had last night. I also had this an hour later.

IMG_1281.JPG

The perfect extra kick of sweetness I needed!

So, I don’t even know if I will be able to run the outback distance classic since I haven’t been running as much..at all. I was sick a few weeks ago and had to take some time off which I hate. I get so into a routine and become so motivated to workout regularly and then when I am sidelined I lose it and have to get out of being lazy and back to being active. I know the race is not too far but my legs give me issues and pushing hard since I haven’t run 3 miles since my last 5k I don’t know if I want to push it. I would much rather work out earlier and get a few miles in on my own. I think I am just going to put more effort into exercise this week and run 3 miles that morning on my own. Hopefully this week will give me the jump start I need to be motivated again. Once I get into the swing of it again I get more motivated. But it takes a few times to get back into the habit of exercising daily. I think our hotel in Jacksonville probably has a gym so that will be good. Plus I need to save my $$ for a couple races I want to do in the next couple months. :) I felt so guilty at first about it. But really..I am still going to run, I am still going to work out and be active. I just want to listen to my body and not be stressed out when I should be enjoying time with my family.

Some exciting things are happening this week, besides Thanksgiving, and their are so many things to be thankful for!

What are your plans for the holiday??

I am off to Jacksonville to my aunt and uncle’s house..so excited! We’ve been wanting to spend Thanksgiving there for a few years now. It’s also supposed to be a little cooler which is exciting. :) Have a great night!

I can sleep another day!

So, on three hours of sleep I got up to watch some new friends run their hearts out! Crazy? Nope. I swear!! I just love stuff like that, It’s not unlike me to say yes at the last minute and be a little spontaneous even if it means not getting a lot of sleep. Life is about experiences and I knew I could nap later..

But first, the rest of my Saturday…

I had a baby shower and late night girl’s time to go to so I whipped up what I was craving.

DSCF4007.JPG

Mmmm spinach, spring mix, brocc and carrots with goddess dressing and a side of sweet potato with a hint of smart balance, salt and pepper.

Sooo amazingly yummy and simple!

Then I was off to my beautiful friend, Nikki’s, baby shower!

IMG_0881.JPG

The spread! I had two of those pizza bites, unpictured but yum!

I also had some punch..

IMG_0894.JPG

Which was sprite, powerade, vodka(the mommy did not drink it), and white grape juice. Then some ice cream was dolloped in. I had one and a half. There wasn’t too much vodka but I wanted to be careful!

Check out this beautiful funfetti cake from last night..

IMG_0882.JPG

The punch was enough sugar at the moment so I didn’t have a slice but it was beautiful!

IMG_0890.JPG
I won the creative diaper packaging contest. It was supposed to look like a giant diaper sticking out..I did my best. ;)
IMG_0874.JPG
Momma requested mainly diapers, so I provided some Huggies pure &natural with organic cotton and BUTT PASTE of course..
We played games like baby themed pictionary..I had to draw “Lamaze class” and “PeePee t-pee” respectively. ;)
IMG_0921.JPG
IMG_0916.JPG
Congrats Nikki! Can’t wait to meet sweet Cameron!
It was so fun to see all of my friends. I also had a late date with some other girls. Around 10 I headed over to see Ashley and Ryan to bake cookies and watch Twilight!
We were trying Lindsey’s “top secret” recipe that she slaved over for months. I was super excited to try it! Thanks to Ryan for the baking pictures.
DSC_1247.jpg
We were all prepared and stayed focused(when we weren’t chatting and giggling).

DSC_1262.jpg
But apparently it doesn’t matter if your pans are non-stick and there’s tons of EarthBalance in a recipe..

DSC_1285.jpg
It doesn’t matter if we had to scrape the first batch off two pans..they are still BEAUTIFUL! :)

We munched on bits of scraped off cookie..I swear they are DELICIOUS!!!
Then we watched Twilight and I admit I liked it way more the second time I watched it. Especially with Ashley’s passion for Edward and Bella, she must do a commentary along with the movie one day it’s priceless! :)
After inviting me I decided to go with the girls eaaaarly in the morning to support Kelly, Caitlin and Ashley in their race(definitely check out their blogs for each of their race recaps!).
I knew Ryan was photographing and I was happy to keep her company and cheer the girls on. It was a lot of fun to be able to cheer on friends!
When my alarm went off I wasn’t as excited, but once I woke up I was good to go.
My stomach could only really handle a Stonyfield yogurt. I also drank some Tazo Awake tea in my to-go cup.
IMG_0942.JPG
I packed an almond butter and blackberry sammie for when my stomach could handle it. I ate it at about 8 AM when the girls were midway in their run.
Here are some pre-race pics:
IMG_0951.JPG
IMG_0955.JPG
Where’s Waldo(or Caitlin, Ashley and Kelly?)
IMG_0958.JPG
We sat in our spot, reading twitter and blogs and waiting for the girls to show!
IMG_0967.JPG
(Ryan took the following photos as well)
Ashley took us along for her ride..

DSC_1548.jpg
Oh yes, she brought Edward too. :)
DSC_1541.jpg
Congratulations on running a great race girls!
I have been a supporter at a few races and I really do enjoy supporting friends and being around the race atmosphere. It definitely motivates me to continue pushing through the beginning of running where even a full mile is difficult. My goal in running is to increase my endurance and continue racing. I would love to have a half-marathon under my belt in a year and training for another one. In the next two years I would love to run a marathon, but we’ll see how my running shapes up and how my goals adapt and change to how running goes. I am just going to take it slow for now and slowly increase mileage! Thanks for inspiring me ladies to work my butt off!
When I got home I passed out for almost four hours! Sometimes I hate wasting so much time in my day but I knew I needed to sleep when I got home or else my week would be shot. So I happily obliged and it was some yummy sleep!
I was pretty ravenous when I awoke from my deep, sweet slumber and Adam asked what I wanted for lunch. My same boring salad as all week and a spicy black bean burger on a sandwich thin with organic ketchup. I mustered all that sleepily but somehow knew exactly what I was craving.
IMG_1002.JPGIMG_0989.JPG
Look what Adam surprised me with after my nap!!
IMG_1004.JPG

We had bought this planter for fresh herbs but it’s just been sitting in our patio..I am SO excited. We have oregano, rosemary, sweet basil and thyme. I LOVE fresh herbs and can’t wait to use some tonight! I am making dinner later and I am really excited about it!
See you all later tonight!

One lazy Sunday.

That is exactly what today has been! Super lazy. I was just surprised at how much energy I had today, I hope my body gets regulated back to it’s normal schedule. I am planning on heading to bed right after posting and reading! I am currently reading Julie & Julia..it seems sort of appropriate I think! :) Loving it so far..

Adam brought me lunch since we were lacking on groceries and I was too tired to try and cook something. He brought me a spicy tuna roll from Publix..

IMG_0512.JPG

After I took this picture I did my best to scrape off as much of the spicy mayo as I possibly could. It just wasn’t so pretty afterward..

Today we finally pulled ourselves out the door to head to Best Buy and the Super Target. I am asking for something special for Christmas so I had to check out some things to make sure I knew what I wanted to add to the list! Also, trying to figure out where we should head up on Black Friday!

We then headed to Super Target to get our weekly groceries. This time I stocked up on veggies, frozen and fresh! I realized last week how much I truly lacked veggies. I know I will be eating lots more this week. Especially since I just bought some Annie’s Goddess dressing..super yum!

For dinner we picked up some things to make a yummy salad. I was craving another delicious salad after lunch on Saturday with the girls!

My salad included:

  • A chopped Bosc Pear.
  • Gorgonzola cheese crumbles.
  • Artichoke hearts which I drained & rinsed.
  • A balsamic vinegar reduction.

We just poured balsamic vinegar in a pot and let the water cook out of it to make it nice and thick..

IMG_0528.JPG

Note to self..be careful when checking on it, you may inhale some and it will NOT feel too good..as both Adam and I learned very quickly.

This salad was DELICIOUS!! Definitely needs an encore every week if possible..yum yum yum!

IMG_0535.JPG

I also had an Arnold’s sandwich thin because this salad didn’t really fill me up!

To drink, some cranberry juice on the rocks..

IMG_0537.JPG

For dessert..some of Lindsey’s delicious mini-cookies! Okay..three of them..

IMG_0538.JPG

And maybe one little pumpkin spice hershey kiss! My sweet tooth was rearing it’s sugary head this weekend!

Tomorrow is a new day! At this point (not including my week off for Thanksgiving) I have three weeks left, one of those where I teach full-time (this week) and next week I start handing the class back! I am SO excited! Once my internship is over I will have two full weeks before graduation(and working on finding a job) to work on recipes, focus on blogging, food, and running! I am beyond thrilled I just need to think of a mantra to repeat in my head this week. I definitely want to finish strong and try and keep my energy up. Any suggestions?

I have some things to finish up before next week..hopefully I will get that done in the next few days!

Earlier I mentioned black Friday, do you have any mandatory go-to places? I have never done it but I might for awesome deals on electronics!

Okay..off to rest up for the week.

Wishing you all a wonderful night sleep!

Christmas in Cocoa!

Well, it’s now officially Christmas at the mall in Cocoa! I am on three hours of sleep right now so today is going to be interesting! Mall work goes from about 6PM-5AM. Luckily we were able to leave early since their are two “shifts”. We lasted until 2:45 and decided we would rather drive home awake, then push it and drive home exhausted.

I had a small plastic bag of Pirate’s booty right when we got to the mall as we were checking and replacing lights on the garland. I sipped on my 32 oz. of water as we worked as well. Mmmm H2O!

I also snacked on some monkey munch/puppy chow(whatever you choose to call it!):

IMG_0481.JPG

Yumm! My wonderful friend Ashley brought a huge bowl of this stuff for us to munch on. Chocolate, peanut buttery goodness!

I also snacked on a few pieces of halloween candy throughout the night, about 4 pieces throughout the night. It was a LONG night so it was a nice sugary pick me up.

When we first got there we had three hours of prep work which involves “fluffing” garland, finding which lights work and don’t and replacing the lights that don’t. My pictures came out blurry, but here are some from the work room..

IMG_0484.JPG

IMG_0485.JPG

Yep there’s a whole lotta Christmas going on..

At about 8:30 we broke for dinner which was GREAT because we were starving. The group decided on pizza from the Sbarro in the mall, my only request was that there be veggies on the pizza. Luckily, Adam was ordering so he made sure to get one and even more fortunately I had some other veggie lovers to share with!

IMG_0495.JPG

Plus another piece half the size of this one.

Okay it literally had just come out of the oven when we got it and my veggies tried to escape my ravenous attack. They lost the battle. I scooped the veggies back on and as unattractive as it looks it was yum! They had green peppers, a little brocc, red peppers, onion(notice an Italian theme with the colors?), and mushrooms! Mmmm! I wish their were more veggies on the pizza but it was better then having no veggies at all!

IMG_0493.JPG

I brought some POM tea for a pick me up with dinner. I have never tried POM tea but it was yummy! I bought two of these during a sale at Publix so I have another yummy one waiting in the fridge for me. I loved the fruity green tea taste, it was a nice treat.

IMG_0496.JPG

I also hated the pizza..obviously..

Throughout the night we prepared garland to hang..literally all night! Thank goodness though, the time flew by so fast. I literally couldn’t believe how fast time was passing by. At around 11:30 we hit a wall though and my friend Gayle I were pretty much garland buddies the whole night and we needed a coffee break. The only place to really get coffee that late(the DD wasn’t 24 hours..sad) was 7-eleven. We grabbed our friend Andy and drove down the road and made a coffee run. I ended up drinking an unpictured vanilla iced coffee. It was SUPER sweet! I’m not used to drinks that sweet, but it did the job.

Then during break around 1:45 I dug into this and shared with Adam:

IMG_0500.JPG

He was really excited about this flavor, so was I! It was yummy with a very subtle sweetness. You would expect a little more tartness from a pineapple yogurt but it had just enough. It wasn’t my favorite flavor so far, I liked it..but Adam LOVED it!

We decided to head out at 2:45 since it was just us two driving home and we didn’t want to wait until we were super tired to drive home. Better safe then sorry, right? So we headed home. Luckily I think the coffee took 3 hours to kick in because we were talking the whole way home!

It was my first night home alone in our apartment all night, I ended up turning all the lights on and watching the recorded episode of SNL with Taylor Swift. It was one of the funnier SNL’s I have seen in a while! I think she did great, I especially loved “The Monologue Song”.

Long story longer, I couldn’t fall asleep. I was up until 6 AM..the sun was rising! I fell asleep watching Friends on my laptop. I woke up bright and early at 9:45 and couldn’t fall back asleep. At least I will be able to fall asleep early tonight?

For breakfast I had another breakfast cookie..yummm! I was sadly..and I mean sadly..out of bananas! It was still good but I missed the nanner yummyness! I added half a cup of 0% plain chobani and some more mushy strawberries.

IMG_0502.JPG

Messy, yummy breakfast!

IMG_0506.JPG

I then moved over to the coffee station, especially since..if you look at the clock..I had been awake 4 hours prior. Mmm coffee..

IMG_0511.JPG

I am hoping to get out of the house today..Adam may not be as excited about that he was up until 6 as well, but stayed in Cocoa..and was running around all night. 12 hours! We shall see..wish me luck? ;)

So that was a random job, but those decorations have to get up there somehow. ;) What’s the most random job you’ve ever done?

Sweet Sunday brew.

Well hello dear friends,

I had a great Sunday! It certainly made up for the Halloween I had. But you know what? You have bad days, you vent, and you move on to better ones. So on that note..let’s move on!

This Sunday started off with Adam making me tea..AND photographing it for me!

IMG_0226

He did a great job, didn’t he? I was so proud! Only a week, and he’s got the “husband of a food blogger” thing down..

Speaking of which..YAY for one week done in the life of TBF! :) I am hooked..and it’s only going up from here!

For breakfast I had my first bowl of oat bran! I LOVE IT!! I think the one thing I don’t love about oatmeal is the extra chewyness..and oat bran had a lot less chewyness. Perfecto for Katy. Adam cooked up what the bag said, and ended up making a ginormous bowl(that proceeded to boil over) in Adam’s words: “next time biiiiiiiiiiiiiiigger pan!”.

DSCF4035

My lovely bowl consisting of the bran of oats. As well as honey and brown sugar! Mmmm..It did need some nanners though. I ate about half of this bowl. I also had a Stonyfield yogurt. Mmmmm..it’s a daily habit. Love it!

After I actually ate a decent breakfast this morning, we headed to church. I was reading the scripture on stage this morning (Acts 9:1-22) boy was I nervous! Aye yaye yaye! I can teach 20 kids everyday but when it comes to my church..I had major butterflies. But I got up there (shaky as it was) and did it and it went well. I didn’t turn red until AFTER I sat down. Success..haha!

We were heading home when we received a call from my in-laws. I listened as Adam talked and told them: “Well, I don’t think so..we were just planning on relaxing the rest of the day. Yesterday was pretty stressful. I’ll ask Katy, but for now count us out.” I was very curious as to what he politely turned down on my behalf. Apparently, they had just found out that Orlando has a brewing company! I was surprised and really excited, I asked Adam if he wanted to go and he was game! I called my mother-in-law and told her and heard my father-in-law laughing in the background at how quickly I agreed. But first: lunch!

Adam requested some mac & cheese so I cooked up come Annie’s:

IMG_0228

With a YOGURT and cheese sauce..oh yes..

DSCF4040

DSCF4042

I mixed the hot noodles with some fresh spinach and mixed so that it would wilt, and added about 1/4 cup of shredded cheese and mozzarella to the mix. A little garlic powder, S&P later and we had a delicious protein-packed mac and cheese!

DSCF4044

I had a Boca Chik’N patty on a whole wheat Arnold’s sandwich thin with a little ketchup. Also some carrots and celery on the side.

Awful picture, but we were in a rush to get to the brewery! Oh and I had already eaten a few carrots before remembering to take a pic!I ate about half of the bowl of mac & cheese..super filling!

Washed down with this:

Then a pumpkin kiss for dessert..these. are. so. good.

DSCF4049

Sweet pumpkiny goodness in one little bite. I had to give the kiss a kiss it was that good!

The brewery is located in downtown Orlando. It was actually on the same street where I did my flowers for my wedding!

It’s called the Orlando Brewing Company and better yet..it’s a certified organic brewery. Oh yes, they were speaking my language! We pulled in with this sign in front of our car:

Ahh yes, I was excited! I loved the atmosphere!

Don’t worry….be hoppy! ;)

It was pretty empty since it was a Sunday but Monday-Saturday they have free tours at 6pm. We didn’t tour today since it was Sunday, but we’ll be back! My Father-In-Law got us two full samplers so each couple could share..they were pretty large samples.

We tried about 15 beers in total, but now worries..I didn’t feel it tooooo much(which surprised me!).

We shared all of them and some of them we didn’t even finish.

We also snacked on some pretzels.

Pompous ass beer anybody?

Oh and we snagged Halloween candy..not that we need anymore with a whole plastic pumpkin filled!

All in all a wonderful day! Dinner is cooking, this time a sweet potato is definitely on it’s way for moi. Yum yum yum! Recap on that tomorrow probably. My lovely husband agreed to watch “Ghost of Girlfriends Past” with me. Thanks for the chick flick Adam! I owe him some macho-action packed-killing people-lots of blood-machine gun-kick butt-sci-fi movie now. We trade off.

Hope everyone is having a relaxing Sunday!

So brussel sprouts are actually GOOD?

Well, while the hubs was out I was getting hungry so I snacked on this:

DSCF3007Okay. Yes. My name is Katy, and I love Synergy’s Kombucha tea. You may think I have a problem. It may smell like vinegar but it tastes like a yummy fruit soda! Seriously..I LOVE it! I told Lindsey that I loved it and she said she would pray for me. Thanks Linds, thanks. Glad you have my back. ;)

Dinner was dee-lishhh! I had my first brussel sprout..EVER! I know I know, but when you are little and Full House tells you they are gross and smell like feet..you’re not gonna go pop one in your mouth. But at miracle miles Meghann and Ryan were talking about how yummy they were and so I had to try some..and I did. I roasted them with just some EVOO, and S&P. Yummm!

Microwaved a sweet potato for 4 minutes, cooked up some spinach and made some yummy baked tofu!

I made it by putting two large books over a block of Nasoya extra firm tofu. LOVE!

I marinated it in a mix of EVOO, teriyaki, honey, stone ground mustard, paprika, a clove of garlic chopped, garlic powder, Emeril’s original essence and S&P. After pressing the tofu I cut the clock into three sections and cut each of those sections in half long ways. I flipped each piece in the marinated, the thickness the honey gave it really helped it coat the tofu. It gave it just the right amount of flavor. Last time I used soy and teriyaki and it was way too salty! This was a great mix of flavors!

That’s my husband’s book, he has a great stash..I use his heavy cookbooks to press the tofu! :)

I snacked on some of this while cooking:

Hey, it’s a Sunday! :) Sundays were made for football and beer..right?

For dessert, some pumpkin pie ice cream. Fantastic. I have to portion just a scoop of this out or I would eat the whole thing. So creamy and delicious with real pieces of pie crust in it!

DSCF3039

We didn’t end up carving the pumpkins today, there’s not enough hours in the day is there? Hopefully we’ll be able to carve them up tomorrow!

I am making some night time tea and then it’s off to BED! Sooo not ready for Monday. ): Oh well, let’s just get it over with! At least this is a super easy week for me! I get Friday off and we have lots of fun planned activities for halloween! :)

Goodnight!

Getting walked by the dog..

Well, another noob mistake: Making sure camera is actually taking pictures..hmm..at least I am learning all this now. I guess you have to learn somehow right? Oy.

Anyways….

DSCF3014

….at least we got our pumpkins!

I was sad to see my pictures at the patch had not come out..

DSCF0960

See the contrast of emotions between myself and Bo who looks plenty happy over my shoulder..

DSCF0957

Then we attempted a walk through the art festival down the street..Bo’s mission instead was to walk US around and sniff every inch of grass, tree or bush in sight. We didn’t last long.

The hubs and his nephew, Bo..

Dinner is now cooking..mmmm..post on that later. Just trying to savor each and every last delectable bit of the weekend left..Sunday nights can be so depressing!

What are some of your favorite ways to spend a Sunday evening?
