Giveaway winner, yummy dinner
January 14, 2010
No more empty fridge blues for me! I went grocery shopping.
Check out this spread.
I realized I have never shown you my groceries! I think we know each other well enough now.

Kashi bars, spicy black bean burgers, potatoes, sweet potatoes, hummus, carrots, brussel sprouts, organic fat-free milk, tazo chai tea, yogurt, onions, an avocado, apples, bananas..

…whole wheat pita, whole wheat tortillas, blue corn chips, whole wheat pancake mix, natural coffee filters, string cheese, shredded cheese, garbanzo beans, salsa, eggs, and spinach. Phew!

Lovely spread.
That made a lovely, lovely lunch!

The nom-factor was 10/10. I used Oikos plain greek yogurt, a little shredded cheese, salsa, garbanzo beans, spinach and salsa.

Plus another, smaller one. A few blue corn chips, and some cranberry juice-water. Yum.

Plus a banana for some potassium power.
When Adam got home we headed to a coffee shop to get some reading done. I sipped on another skim iced vanilla latte. Yum.

For dinner, I roasted some frozen brussel sprouts, made my spinach with onions and blue cheese, and Adam made sausage!

I promise, the brussel sprouts just look dark they aren’t burnt! This was my first time using frozen brussels, and they worked but were just mushier in the middle. I microed them for 30 seconds then roasted them. It’s a cheaper alternative to buying fresh, and still tasted pretty good to me!

Then we headed to our local wine shop, Wine Styles to enjoy a free wine tasting.

They have free wine tastings every Thursday, it’s great!

Tonight’s theme was “fruity” and “sweet” wines.
We tried a bunch and really enjoyed them.
The most interesting..

ChocoVine.
A mix of rich dutch chocolate and a french cabernet! It tasted like a chocolate liquor though, I couldn’t tell it was wine!

We bought a bottle of a dessert wine for another time, and headed home.
Dessert was a strawberry yogurt.

Now, for the WINNER!!
I used a random integer generator and the winner was…
NIKI!
“I have heard so much about Greek yogurt but have not tried it yet! I would love to but it is a little hard to find where I live, but I know some stores I would actually go out of my way to, to try it. The thing that makes me excited about it is THAT IT HAS SO MUCH MORE PROTEIN THAN REGULAR YOGURT. I have very low protein intakes and this might help!
“
Congratulations Niki! Now you can finally try some Oikos greek yogurt!
Just send me your address and your prize will be mailed out to you!
Thanks to everyone who entered, I loved reading your entries so much! You guys are great.

I found out some exciting news today, that hopefully I will be able to announce by next week, and no I am not pregnant! Why does everything exciting have to do with babies when you are married? I posted on Facebook that I found out something exciting and everyone thought I was preggers. Not for a few years people!
I am off to bed, I am not going to be getting too much sleep tonight..blah! I am babysitting for friends of mine before coming home to get Leo and then head home for a night. I am visiting my grandpa Saturday, luckily he’s been hanging in there.
Goodnight!
Katy
