Pile On The Miles ’09!

November 2, 2009

It’s been so cloudy and dreary out I have just wanted nothing more then to crawl under the warm comforter on our bed all day! Oh well, Monday comes and it’s off to work I go! I had my final obseration for my internship and it was a drop-in..so I didn’t know when she would come watch me teach. It went well! I am just glad it’s over ;) .

Last night for dinner I had leftover baked tofu and a sweet potato..mmmm!

If that isn’t one of the ugliest dinners..at least it was yummy! Nom nom nom!

I am still on a minimal appetite diet. Today was much better but last night, it was a small dinner! I was much more full from the beer tasting then I realized. We fell asleep by 9:30 and woke up bright and early for a 5:30 workout..of course by the time I “woke up”, ate and was ready to go it was 5:50..but still..

Mmmm apples and almond butter! I ate about 1/3 of this before heading off to the gym. Again, I have little to no appetite in the mornings and I need something small to get me to the gym. This was the first time we went to the gym before work this semester. I am still kind of off from being sick so I just did 20 minuts of elliptical. It was more important for me to be in there moving, then getting a “good” workout. Pushing myself was only going to do more harm than good, so I eased into it. I needed to do something because(as much as I love working out and being active) I am the type of person that gets too comfortable not working out and it makes it that much harder to get back in the groove. I set my elliptical machine to level 5 on hills. I broke a sweat, that’s all that matters. :) It just felt good to be there before the crack of dawn! :) Then it was done. I went on with my day! This will be happening more often!

Adam made me a wonderful almond butter and 365 blackberry preserve sandwich. Yummm! I love toasting the sandwich thins, it gives them a totally different taste and makes them a little chewier which I LOVE! Now Adam doesn’t make me lunch everyday, but certain mornings while he makes his he makes mine. I appreciate the help in the morning greatly! :) I also packed some pirate’s booty, a string cheese, apple sauce, and some organic chocolate bears. It was a good mix of sweet and savory. But I need to work on more exciting lunches. It just makes me day better when I think of a yummy lunch waiting for me!

I got home and dealt with some dentist issues..I have to go in on Wednesday to get numbed and get my crown put on again. :( See being numbed is good since it was intensely painful. But..Novocaine lasts six hours on me! I don’t know why! The dentist said it was good because some people they need to inject like 100 times because it wears off in 30 minutes. It’s miserable though! I can’t eat until 9-10 at night and it’s super uncomfortable. But oh well, you may be seeing just a smoothie for dinner instead of my small group feast! :) I’ll make it one darn good smoothie!!

My mom and step-dad Dave were in town for a few hours on their drive home from North Carolina(we’re probably going to be owning land there officially in the next 24 hours..YAY!) and so we went to her friends Sally and John’s house for dinner. We were stressed from dental dilemnas and needed some vino..okay more like wanted some vino..

IMG_0270

In total tonight I had a full glass and a half. One glass of a Mark West Pinot Noir. (Oh my vino! SO yum!)

Then half a glass of a Chilean Syrah..didn’t grab a look at the label but it was gooooood!

It was wonderful to just sit and relax and talk with my mom and step-dad. I love my mom, she is my best friend(besides my husband of course)!

Then we ate. A chicken dish made with cream of broccoli Campbell’s soup(recipe on the can from what I hear.. ;) ;)

So warm and comforting! Along with some green beans(cooked with bacon), jasmine rice with mushrooms, and homemade biscuits. I didn’t grab much of the bacon but ate a good helping of green beans and rice and ate 2/3 of a piece of chicken. Also a little biscuit!

Mmmm..so yummy!

Now I am settling down to head to bed and read! I need as much sleep as I can get so I can get over this cold! I need to start running again asap! I have joined Caitlin and many others in the Pile On The Miles Challenge 2009! It’s an amazing way to keep up the exercise during this holiday season by recording how many miles you run! I won’t win the most miles award, but just adding miles is a satisfying way to keep active during a time where it’s so easy to eat a lot but not move a lot. I am super excited. My first challenge as a blogger! YAY! :) Hopefully I will feel better soon and be able to add up my miles. :) Especially since I plan on running a race Thanksgiving morning!

Okay well, I am off to bed. But I have a feeling this is going to be an exciting week on the TBF front! Thanks for sticking around with me. I really love this, and I love hearing your comments and questions! :) You guys are great!

I’ve got to go sign up for that! It’s so easy to get discouraged and slack on training. With a race in three weeks, I better get on the stick!!
